To The Sea I Go for Doodlebug Design

Hi there! Today I want to share a new project I made for Doodlebug Design with their fabulous Sweet Summer collection.

I'm a person in love with the ocean, I love everything about it, the waves, walking barefoot in the sand, feeling the salt on my lips and the sweet breeze on my hair, for me the ocean is a place where I charge my batteries, and this is what I tried to document on this layout.

I had these gorgeous photos my friend Eva took me on our trip to Costa Rica few months ago, the beaches are something really beautiful there, so we enjoyed swimming and of course we snapped a few shots for our scrapbooks :)

I wanted to use as many pics as possible because I love each of them! I am very critical about pics of myself (I never seem to look the way I want and it gets even worse if I'm on a swimsuit) but I just adored each and every of these pics, so of course I wanted to use them all!

A good way of including several pics without overwhelming the page is combining rectangles and circles of different sizes, it looks interesting and not busy at all.

I embellished my page with diecuts from the Odds&Ends and Chit Chat packages, I tried to use the circle shaped ones to be in accordance with my design.

For my title I got inspiration from a quote I found on Pinterest, which seemed perfect for what I feel about the ocean, so I decided to use it. I combines Teensy Typo alpha in yellow color and few words I cut using my Silhouette Cameo and free font Better Together.
I paced my title on the left of the page so I could write the journaling on the right side, this way it looks balanced and journaling becomes an active part of my design.

It's such a simple layout but it has a lot of feeling and good memories, I love the result. If you have any doubt just let me a comment. Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day!
